Eboni Calbow, PhD

  • Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, Steve Hicks School of Social Work

Experience: Eboni Lunsford Calbow, PhD, LCSW-S, is the CEO and Founder of Elixir Austin, a culture forward, social justice and equity focused behavioral health collective, where she leads advocacy for increasing cultural representation among behavioral healthcare practitioners through eliminating financial and sociocultural barriers to independent practice. One of her major areas of focus is to normalize support seeking behaviors by amplifying access to interdisciplinary, diverse and inclusive resources and practitioners, all to enhance the overall health and well-being of our communities. Dr.Calbow also taught incoming social work professionals as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Steve Hicks School of Social Work and interdisciplinary professionals in healthcare as part of the Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars Program with Dell Medical School.  She is also an inaugural member and graduate of the Goldman Sachs: One Million Black Women Small Business cohort.  An ardent advocate for community stewardship and nonprofit leadership, Calbow serves on the Board for Girls Empowerment Network (past Board Chair 2021-2023), the Texas Jail Project (Board Chair, 2024) and the UT Charter School System, all since 2018. Her motto: be kind, be well, be powerful.
