Tatiana: GENaustin’s Girl Guest-Blogger!

GENaustin is so excited to welcome Tatiana, who spoke at last year’s We Are Girls Conference, as our newest guest blogger! Twice a month, Tati will share her insights into the unique experiences and challenges girls face as they navigate adolescence.

(Read our interview with Tatiana last year.)

Her very first blog is on the upcoming We Are Girls Conference:

Every November,  GENaustin hosts the We Are Girls Conference, where girls grades 5-12 come to listen to guest speakers, attend different scheduled workshops, and just have fun! I went to my first W.A.G conference last year (2011) and served as one of the guest speakers at the start of the event. I gave a short speech on life as a middle school girl and the self esteem/bullying difficulties the middle schoolers of today are faced with. I was really nervous, but when I was finished I felt really good about it. There was also another guest speaker who attended, Rosalind Wiseman, the writer of the book Queen Bees and Wannabes, and other great books! It was such an honor to share the stage with her, and what she had to say was both eye-opening and inspirational. After the keynote address portion of the conference I went to different workshops that were being held that day. I specifically remember going to the I Am Beautiful workshop. It was a really great experience. I learned so much about how inner beauty is what really matters and that everyone should be accepted for who they are. Our differences should be what make us special, not what divide us. I loved every moment of my first We Are Girls Conference and can’t wait for the next one!

The We Are Girls Conference is a day girls remember long after it ends, and they and their parents come back year after year. There are lots of girls who can’t attend without a scholarship. Just $30 will make the difference for these girls and their families. Donate today and be the difference for them!

And if you haven’t already registered, don’t miss out! Register today for the November 3rd Conference at www.wearegirls.org!
