Introducing clubGEN’s new Program Manager, Rachel Moore!

Why did you join GENaustin?

I joined GENaustin so that I could focus my passion for social justice on the needs of adolescent girls.  I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of GENaustin to support and guide girls as they navigate the unique pressures of girlhood.  I have followed GENaustin for years and was ecstatic to see a job open up that would allow me to dedicate my efforts to clubGEN.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the GENaustin team?

I joined GENaustin so that I could work with such an amazing network of strong women who are devoted to serving girls!  I love that GENaustin is a space for all girls and women to express and celebrate their female identity.

Why do you think clubGEN is so important to girls?

Girls are craving a space to explore the topics covered in clubGEN and we are constantly adapting our program to provide relevant services that respond the evolving needs of girls.  Most of all though, girls love coming to clubGEN because it is fun and they know they will be supported by a strong network of girls and women.

What are you most excited about this upcoming year of clubGEN?

I am floored by the overwhelming number of schools requesting clubGEN on their campuses this year!  We will serve 18 schools in the fall and we plan to expand to even more schools for the Spring semester.  I am especially excited to expand our services into Manor Elementary, Rodriguez Elementary, and Widen Elementary Schools who are all hosting clubGEN for the first time.  I think it is critical that we continue to expand clubGEN into Elementary Schools so that girls feel prepared for the pressures they will face in Middle School.
