Experience: Amy found GEN through an event sponsored by her favorite zine, and came back later to volunteer at the We Are Girls Conference. She is passionate about creating space for teams to do their best work. Amy holds her MA in American Studies from Baylor University, and honed her organizational and administrative skills in nonprofit, state government, and museum settings. A transplant from Pennsylvania, she enjoys giving back to her adopted city by volunteering at nonprofits like Project Transitions, a local organization supporting those living with HIV/AIDS in Central Texas. When not at work, you can find Amy nestled in a bookstore nook, enjoying the amazing cultural events around town, or tending to her stoop garden.

What I love about GEN: As a former Girl Scout, I experienced first hand the power that girl-positive spaces can have on a young person. GEN’s work not only provides girls with the programs and skills to cultivate strength, it connects women and girls across ages. I am so excited to be a part of what GEN is doing for the next generation of girls!
