Laura Jaramillo has been involved with GEN’s We Are Girls Conference for more than a year when she was introduced to Julia Cuba Lewis at a luncheon in the home of Sara Speer Selber in November 2015.  “I’m honored to be a part of GEN’s We are Girls Conference because I love their mission!  The conference helps girls find their power.  I wish I had had that growing up,” said Laura about her distinguished position with the 2017 conference.

Laura has over 25 years of banking experience, was an SBA/Credit Enhanced Lender at Chase Bank and held various positions in Real Estate, Small Business and International Public Sector.

Laura has a strong commitment to her community as evidenced by her extensive board service and volunteerism. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Holocaust Museum Houston, Greater Houston Community Foundation and Houston’s Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).   Past board involvement includes AAMA (Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans), Texas Council on Economic Education, Recipe for Success, Crossroads, Texas Mezzanine Fund and more.  She has been active with various City programs and was appointed Board Chair of the Houston Housing Authority by Mayer Bill White.
She is a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum and the Center for Houston’s Future where she has served on various committees including the Community Future Awareness Committee, and an 18 month Scenario Planning Project for the Greater Houston Region.
It is with great excitement that GEN welcomes Laura Jaramillo into her distinguished role as Honorary Chair of the 2017 We Are Girls Houston Conference.  Thank you for your valuable leadership, Laura!
